HabitWise is a habit-tracking app. This page explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and how to remove it.
If you never create an account
HabitWise works fully offline. If you don't sign in, none of your habit data ever leaves your device — it's stored locally only, and we have no access to it.
What we collect if you create an account
Creating an account is optional and only needed if you want your data backed up and available across devices. If you sign up, we collect:
- Email address and password — used solely to authenticate you. Passwords are never stored in plain text; authentication is handled by our backend provider, Supabase.
- Habit data — the habits you create, your completion history, and any challenges you set up. This is the same data already stored locally on your device; signing in additionally syncs it to our database so it's available if you reinstall the app or use another device.
For your account and habit data, we do not collect analytics or location data beyond what's described above. On the free plan, advertising identifiers are processed by our advertising partner as described in “Advertising (free plan)” below.
How your data is used
Your data is used only to operate the app for you: displaying your habits, calculating streaks, and syncing your data across your own devices. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where data is stored
Account and habit data is stored with Supabase, our backend provider, with access controls that restrict each account's data to that account only. Local device data is stored using standard on-device storage.
AI habit advice (Premium)
If you subscribe to Premium and use the AI Coach, a statistical summary of your habits (habit names, completion rates, and streaks — never your email, account ID, or individual timestamps) is sent to Anthropic, our AI processor, to generate your advice. Anthropic processes this data solely to provide the response and does not use it for advertising. Your latest advice is stored with your account so the app can show it to you again; it is deleted along with your account.
Notifications
If you enable habit reminders, they are scheduled locally on your device through your OS's notification system. No data is sent anywhere to generate these reminders.
Deleting your data
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. This immediately and irreversibly removes your account and all synced habit data from our servers. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data on that device.
Advertising (free plan)
The free plan shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may process device identifiers and ad-interaction data; where you consent (and, on iOS, allow tracking), ads may be personalized. You can change your consent choices in the app's ad consent form or your device settings at any time. Your habit data is never shared with advertisers. Premium subscribers see no ads at all.
Children's privacy
HabitWise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
